Orange Wedding

Fall is such a beautiful season! The leaves turn different shades of orange, red, and yellow. Why not incorporate the season into your wedding with and orange color scheme? I found some really neat ideas for an orange themed wedding. This picture is a stunning example of how to make place cards and favors using the orange theme!

Another way to incorporate the orange into your wedding is by using orange themed invitations.
You can go with something a bit more modern than the usual cream colored invitation and choose a solid orange invitation with white lettering. The invitation pictured left is rather simple. It can be printed on your own, or I'm sure you can find this basic design at any wedding invitation printing shop.

I have also found another invitation that I like better than the modern simple one that you have just seen. This invitation can be made at home with only a few tools and looks sooo elegant!

All you would need is a color printer, a paper cutter, card stock, and a monogram embosser tool that you can find online. It's a pocket invitation. If you get this printed professionally, it will cost you a fortune, but if you make it yourself, you can have elegance without the price tag!

Here's a website where you can find monogram embossers : http://weddingstore.wedding-ideas-and-details.com/custom_stamps_embossers.html

Another thing that you should think about is whether or not to incorporate an orange cake into your wedding reception. If you do, this will draw all of the elements of your color scheme together and add coherence to your vision! I found a picture of an orange themed cake that I thought was very pretty. It's a white square cake with only two tiers. It's decorated with gum paste lilies that have orange centers. The other thing that adds to the elegance of this cake is a thin orange ribbon that lines the bottom of each tier. This cake is perfect for an orange themed wedding!

Another option for an orange themed cake is this beautiful four tiered cake with cascading gum paste cala lilies and an orange ribbon surrounding the diameter of each layer. In addition to these beautiful accents, there is some scroll work just above the orange ribbon that is very dainty and becoming on this cake.

Add these orange chrysanthemums to your bouquets if you are going with neutral toned dresses (browns, champagnes) or deep toned dresses (reds, blacks, blues). You could even incorporate these beautiful flowers into your decor.

Well...that's all I have for now. I'll keep you posted on more orange wedding ideas when I get a chance! I hope you find these ideas helpful! :)

Modest Bridesmaids....

It is soooo hard to find modest bridesmaid dresses that are stylish! Most modest bridesmaid dresses that one can find are those cast off ugly looking dresses that look like they were made in the 80's.

Here's an option for a younger bridesmaid (maybe a jr. bridesmaid) or flower girl. It's from a company in the UK, so I'm not sure how possible it would be to buy from the states, but this lovely bolero can go with any strapless gown and add an air of modesty to the dress while keeping the stylishness of the dress!

More to come....

Stylish Yet Modest Wedding Gowns...It Doesn't Have To Be An Oxymoron! :)

Modesty....
Weddings are hectic enough...but adding modesty to the equation can make them MUCH more difficult! There are few modest options for brides and bridal parties that can be considered stylish as well. I came across a website that I came across that possesses the stylish elements of a wedding gown and incorporates modesty in with the details. The designer is from Spain. His line is relatively new. As you will notice on his site, there are only two collections: 2008 and 2009. His line is called "San Patrick." Keep in mind that site is also in Spanish. You can change the language by clicking on the little bar in the left hand corner that says "other languages." Here's the website:
http://www.sanpatrick.com/
In this site, you will find many dresses that include lace boleros to enhance the modesty of the gown. There are also a few gowns that are made with elbow length sleeves.
Some of the modest stlyes in the 2008 San Patrick collection are:
Chic Collection: Binefar, Belgica, Belice, Broche, Berna, Balsamo, Brilliante (depending on chest size), Basalto, and Brindisi.
Elegance Collection: Birmania, and possibly the Balconese.
Duchesse Collection: Brenda, Bangor, and the Barbados.
Gold Collection: Bucle, Bomeo, Budapest, and the Barcino.
Tulle Collection: Brades (depending on chest size), Barima, and the Bari (depending on chest size).
Flounces Collection: Boehmia (depending on chest size).

My personal favorites from the 2008 collection are: Balsamo from the chic collection, Bomeo from the gold collection.

Some of the modest stlyes in the 2009 Sanpatrick collection are: Piccola, Pluma, Paladium, Paloma, Prosa, Papua, Polka, Pascua, Pineda, Pricilla, Puente....there are many more.

My personal favorites from the 2009 collection are: Pineda, Promesa.

Obviously, modesty standards tend to be different per individual, so...you can browse this site and find out if any of these styles work for you!

You can find out if this line is carried in a store near you by clicking on the "where to buy" link in the left hand corner. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I did! San Patrick's combination of fine satin and laces is sheer genius! :)
